QSO 355 MODULE TWO ACTIVITY GUIDELINES AND RUBRIC
Note: This activity is designed to give you practice in creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Dictionary, which you will do for your final project in Milestone One.
For an introduction to the WBS, complete the Module Two WBS Dictionary Template Spreadsheet, which is linked in the What to Submit section below, for an upcoming dinner. This WBS Dictionary should detail the steps involved in planning and executing a dinner for your family. This template will be the basis for another assignment during Module Five. (You might want to look at the Module Five Activity Guidelines and Rubric in the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics section to see how that project is set up.) The focus here is for you to gain an understanding of the tool.
See the video in the Reading and Resources section for more information regarding a work breakdown structure (WBS) and how to create one.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
- WBS ID: Your dinner WBS should break your dinner project down into small deliverables. Each of these deliverables should follow the correct numeric WBS identification. The ID convention is described in the above video links. Each detail of lines 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 should be retained.
- Task Name: Each deliverable needs
a name. Each detail of lines 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 should be retained.
Description: Each deliverable needs a description of the work involved. Each detail of lines 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 should be retained.
Please remember that this assignment is an opportunity for you to show that you understand how a WBS Dictionary is used.
What to Submit
This activity will be submitted using the WBS Dictionary Template Spreadsheet . Any outside references should be cited in APA format but are not required.
