Website Overview

Throughout the courses in this program, you will be creating a Technology Coaching Website that is intended to be an electronic portfolio and resource you can utilize in your professional practice. Because the site will contain artifacts from multiple courses within the program, it is important to keep all of your assignment deliverables. You may select the website authoring tool of your choice to build your portfolio.

The website will be designed to align with the ISTE Standards for Coaches, and the content on each page should be arranged to support these standards. When setting up your website, you should include a specific page for each of the seven domains listed below.

  • Change Agent
  • Connected Learner
  • Collaborator
  • Learning Designer
  • Professional Learning Facilitator
  • Data-Driven Decision-Maker
  • Digital Citizen Advocate

Before beginning the program and throughout your course work, review and refer to the standards located in each domain.

You will have the opportunity to build your website in TEC-516: Instructional Theories and Models in Technology Education. Subsequent courses will continue to suggest uploading completed assignments to the portfolio. However, you are not limited to including only those suggested artifacts, and it will be up to you to determine the most appropriate page for each of your artifacts in relation to the corresponding standards. In the TEC-595: Instructional Technology Capstone course you will complete the final revisions to the site and submit it in its entirety as part of the benchmark assessment.

In addition to creating the website and using it to house various artifacts from each programmatic course, you will also complete the “Standards and Rationale” worksheet and submit it as part of course assignment deliverables. The worksheet contains a table that corresponds to each course. In the table you will describe each artifact, show its alignment to the “ISTE Standards for Coaches” domains and standards, and provide a rationale for the placement and alignment of each artifact.

Standards and Rationale

As you create various artifacts that will become part of your “Technology Coaching Website,” you will also complete the table that corresponds to your current course to describe each artifact, show its alignment to the “ISTE Standards for Coaches” domains and standards, and provide a rationale for the placement and alignment of each artifact. There is a separate section for each course, and you may add or delete rows to each course documentation table as needed. You will continue to use and add to this worksheet throughout each course in the program.
