As can be extrapolated from the information provided it is evident that his INR is way too high above the normal clinical parameters. A high INR is associated with an increased risk of bleeding. This is because of drug-drug interactions between warfarin and amiodarone. Amiodarone inhibits the metabolism of warfarin, therefore, leading to an increased concentration of warfarin in the body (Hamilton et al., 2020). This explains why the patient’s INR and hence the risk of bleeding is high.
