Overview
For this final project scenario, you will assume the role of an executive for a U.S.-based car manufacturing organization. Your goal for the project is to determine the optimal country to expand into for the purpose of establishing a new manufacturing and distribution facility, and to begin compiling research required for a global management strategy. As a leader of a diverse, multicultural, and internationally dispersed team, you will need to take into consideration many aspects of international business operations, culture, and law. Your international management strategy should address the following question: What factors must be considered when managing an expansion to a foreign country?
The final project for this course is divided into two parts, and each part is graded with a separate rubric. Final Project Part I: Global Exploration is due in Module Three. Final Project Part II: International Management Strategy is due in Module Seven.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following outcomes:
- INT-315-01: Determine best management practices for successful operation of international businesses based on effects of globalization
- INT-315-02: Analyze the differences in communication across cultures for facilitating international business collaboration
- INT-315-03: Determine how various mitigation strategies can address common risks associated with international business
- INT-315-04: Apply ethical considerations to business decisions for ensuring culturally sensitive international business management

Once you have selected a country to expand your manufacturing into, you will conduct further research to gain a solid understanding of the many considerations involved in managing a global expansion, including marketing, human resources, corporate social responsibility, and finance and accounting.
In the second part of the final project, you will conduct further research on the country you selected in Part I. To develop an international management strategy, you must understand the many factors involved in setting up a new manufacturing and distribution facility abroad. The research you do in each section should lay the groundwork for the development of management strategies in each department.
Specifically, your international management strategy should address the following critical elements. Most of the critical elements align with a particular course outcome (shown in brackets).

- Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy Factors: In this section, you will research factors that will affect the corporate social responsibility strategies used in the country you selected.
- Research and Development: Describe potential ethical challenges within the area of research and development for the organization’s expansion project, and explain how these might impact individuals and society in your selected country. [INT-315- 04]
- Sustainability: Determine environmental issues within your selected country that may impact your organization’s expansion project. [INT-315-04]
- Financial Operation and Accounting Strategy Factors: In this section, you will research factors that will affect the financial operation and accounting strategies used in the country you selected.
- Financial Legal Consideration: Determine tax laws that are unique to the selected country and explain how they could affect the organization’s expansion project. [INT-315-03]
- Transparency: Using your research on communication in the selected country, describe an approach for communicating financial transparency in an ethical manner. [INT-315-02]
- Financial Risks: Determine the main financial risks that will need to be considered when expanding into the selected country’s market, and provide rationale based on the needs of the organization and previous economic research. [INT-315-03]
- Management Plan Recommendations: In this section, you will present your findings based on the research you conducted on marketing, human resources, CSR, and financial operations. In doing so, you will discuss significant risks to the expansion project and your plans to mitigate these risks.

Milestones
Milestone One: Marketing, Human Resources, and CSR Factors
In Module Five, you will submit the first three sections of Final Project Part II: Marketing, Human Resources, and CSR. For each of these sections, you will be researching factors that will inform the international management strategy. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone One Rubric.
Final Submission: International Management Strategy
In Module Seven, you will submit your international management strategy for expanding to the selected foreign location. This will include all sections all sections in final project part II, those you completed in Milestone One plus Financing and Accounting and Management Plan Recommendations. Your recommendations must be based on the research you completed for all of final project part II and will address significant risks to the expansion plan. This submission will be graded with the Final Project Rubric.

Guidelines for Submission: The submission should follow these formatting guidelines: 7-9 pages in length, double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and citations in APA style.
