The final project for this course is divided into two parts, and each part is graded with a separate rubric. Final Project Part I: Global Exploration is due in Module Three. Final Project Part II: International Management Strategy is due in Module Seven.

In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following outcomes:

  • Determine best management practices for successful operation of international businesses based on effects of globalization
  • Analyze the differences in communication across cultures for facilitating international business collaboration
  • Determine how various mitigation strategies can address common risks associated with international business
  • Apply ethical considerations to business decisions for ensuring culturally sensitive international business management

Prompt

Before examining the many factors involved in developing an international management strategy, you must determine an optimal country for your company’s new manufacturing and distribution facility. In doing so, you will narrow your options to two potential countries and compare the social, cultural, and political landscape before selecting one country that you will complete the remainder of your research for.

In the interest of ensuring alignment with your company’s values and a cohesive partnership with the executives in the international location, you should keep in mind the cultural and social aspects of typical U.S. organizations, such as leadership styles, employee motivations, and working hours. Finally, as you begin your research on the two countries, it is important to look at not only the benefits of working with a global team but also the challenges that will be associated.
